The Old fortified walled city of Dubrovnik still shows signs from the bombardment by Milan Martic of the Serb controlled Yugoslav Peoples Army during the the"Croatian War of Independence" 1991 - 1995 - 20,000 people were killed in that conflict and a cost to Croatia to the tune of US$37 billion in lost and damaged property etc.
